Professor Sanjay Sable

Sanjay Sable, a soft-spoken artistically inclined man hailed from a rural town in Maharashtra, exhibits his painting in celebrated galleries across India and beyond - Dubai, Bangladesh, USA, to name a few. His initial educational pursuit took him to the city of Pune, where is attained his formal training at Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya with a Government Diploma in Painting (G.D. Art). He continued his educational quest with an MFA at Ojaswini Fine Art College located in Jalaon and a Diploma in Art Education from the reputable Sir J.J. School o f Art. Exquisitely skilled in a variety of media, particularly watercolors, Sable's initial exploration was in figurative art of the classical mode. His seasoned explorations embraced varied ideas encompassing themes like tribal life, poverty, loneliness, women, music, etc. Works from these themes have found homes in various collections around the globe. As distinctions were part of his triumphs in his formal education, accolades and wins in professional exhibitions and juried competitions were an obvious extension given his gifted ability and immense hard work. His work has received recognition from many premier art exhibitions, including the Bombay Art Society, the Art Society of India, Maharashtra State Art exhibition, and the prestigious Harmony Art Show organized by the Reliance Industries. Sable continues his artistic research with an active studio practice, and spends his time being a professor teaching at Nasik Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya in Nasik.

Vilas Tonape is an internationally recognized artist and a teacher. He chairs the department of art at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Tonape has been creating art for three decades and is a native of India. He received his BFA in Drawing and Painting with distinction from the Sir J.J. School of Art, University of Bombay, India. He earned an MFA in Painting from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. His work has been exhibited internationally, including venues in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Ontario and Bombay. Tonape has won numerous awards throughout the United States and India, and his work has been critically acclaimed. Palm Beach Post says: “Tonape’s painting can be described as classically inspired, contemporary-realism—interpretive images that enchant the eye”.
